In 1990 Pam Arden was encouraged to run for the State Legislature, and has been highly involved in neighborhood engagement and improvements ever since. She has served as a Precinct Committee Person for over 20 years, and can be seen at almost every community event in North Portland, doing things like tabling for the PeninsulaCrossingTrail, leading a SOLV cleanup, or registering voters. She says that neighbor-to-neighbor conversations about voting are her favorite part of being a PCP. Neighbors see her lawn signs during elections, and sometimes even knock on her door for voting advice. Pam believes that "it's the little things you do during an election, that you don't think are very big, but make a difference." She is truly an election resource and font of knowledge for her neighbors. Multnomah County Democratic Party appreciates Pam Arden's 20-plus years of service.
